I've been wanting a pair of Full Tilt boots since I noticed the ads in the ski rags a few years ago. I've finally beaten my current boots to death and "need" new boots. I scoured the internet to find some dealers and found both evo and Al's. (My nearest dealer is 250 miles away and doesn't have much, if any stock right now). So I took the plunge and ordered a pair of camo's in size 31 from evo.
First of all let me say all the "hype" about these boots is 100% accurate. I haven't had ski boots on in ~6 months now (took the second half of the season off due to the birth of my first kid!!!) and these felt like slippers right out of the box. Much more comfortable than my old boots which have been beaten into the shape of my foot. Also the full tilts hold my heel down very well (which I have issues with).
I got the right size (I never know if I'm a 12 or 13 in certain boots) which was my primary concern with ordering boots online. I'm thinking the flex might be a bit soft. I'll wait until I can actually ski them in cold weather to decide for sure, but how do I order different tongues? I see from the videos on the main page that it's easy enough to swap out the tongues, and I see from the accessories page that you have a full range available. But how do I order them? I didn't realize the camo's were a 4 when I ordered them or I probably would have gone with the bumble bees. I was just pretty limited with my selection needing a 31 and figured I'd start with something in the size and work from there if I had to. I also don't love boots that are crazy stiff but typically one step down from "pro" boots is where I'm happy. I'm not 100% that I'll even need something stiffer once I try these in cold weather, but I want to be sure I can get the stiffer tongues if needed before I go past the return period. Also, what's a set of tongues cost?
Thanks,
Ben

its great to here you're now a believer. Ordering online is very nerve racking for some and in your case (closest shop being 250 miles away) it was necessary. If you can make it to a local shop with a pro boot fitter we strongly encourage that for any foot related purchase, they're pros and it will be worth it.
as for accessories, they will be available from many online shops and local shops in the coming months. it sounds generic but sign up for the mailing list and you'll be the first to know.
thanks. -FT
Yeah, I'm a full believer in bootfitters being gods. I used to live in MT and would always goto the shop for anything boot related, but now I'm living in RI and I'm stuck... I'll join the list so I can order them when they're available...
thanks!
